The German manufacturer BMW Motorrad unveils the new edition of its most selling adventure bike.
The updated 2019 edition of R1250 GS gets a bigger 1254cc, engine that churns out 136 horses of power and 143 Newtons of torque. The motor uses the Shift Cam technology from BMW that is an update from its regular variable valve timing system. It also gets two profiles of the Cam, one of which is ‘partial load’ that is good for efficiency and the other is ‘full load’ for the best performance. This has improved the performance as well as the efficiency of the new motorcycle. Also the updated version gets oil jet cooling system, new injectors and a slipper clutch.
Apart from this, the R1250 GS gets upgraded electronics package that includes two modes rain and road. A traction control system and hill start control comes as a standard option. An optional package is also available which offers Dynamic Traction Control, ABS Pro, Hill Start Control Pro and Dynamic Brake Assist. A Bluetooth enabled display comes as a standard fitment to the bike.
The R1250 GS is available in 3 variations. The standard R1250 GS, the R1250 GS Exclusive and the flagship model R1250 GS HP. The 2019 BMW R1250 GS is likely to hit the global markets in a couple of months. The bike might get launched in India in the first quater of 2019.
