Just 3 days before the official launch of the G310 R and G310 GS in India, BMW Motorrad recalled 2,376 units in the USA. The bikes have been recalled due to an issue with the side stand and frame. The bike’s side stand can get damaged with repeated use, says – NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). Though this is not a major safety issue, but over time, this could damage the frame on which the stand is mounted.
BMW Motorrad will brief the affected owners about the revision and the new frame or a side stand will be installed free of cost at the dealerships. The recall is scheduled to come in action from 7th of August, 2018.
However, the G310 twins are launching in India tomorrow. And, we’re hopeful that the company has already amended these issues before delivering the bikes to the customers. Talking about the pricing, the street-fighter G310 R is expected to be priced around Rs. 3.5 lacs and the adventure touring GS version is more likely to carry a slightly higher price tag for around Rs. 3.7 lacs.
