Indian Motorcycle has recalled Indian Scout, Scout Sixty and Scout Bobber manufactured in 2017 and 2018. As per the company, the bikes have been recalled as they found that some ABS units had air left in the system during assembly and this can affect the braking performance of the bike. A total of 4,185 units of the Indian Scout range have been affected by this recall. Indian Motorcycle has already started notifying the affected owners to fix their motorcycles as the American brand wants to maintain it’s legacy. So the dealers will bleed the front and rear brakes to remove the air pocket without any charges.
Although the official recall issued for the Scout Range has not been announced in India yet, we are waiting for any official news about it. Since the Indian Scout range is brought to India as a CBU (completely built up) unit, there might be some chances for the recall to be announced in India.
However, we personally vouch for the Indian Motorcycle Scout, as we rode the Indian Scout and Scout Sixty with Indian Motorcycle Riders Group presidential chapter recently, and the bikes behaved perfectly.
