Suzuki Motorcycle India has official revealed to launch its first maxi scooter Burgman Street on 19 July 2018. It shares the same base as the Access 125 and uses the same engine. Internationally Suzuki Burgman is offered in various engine options that include 125 cc, 200 cc, 250 cc, 400 cc and 600 cc, but in India it will be offered with 125cc power source.
It is a single cylinder motor which produces 8.7bhp at 6500 rpm and 10.2 Nm of torque at 5000 rpm. Expected fuel efficiency is 40kmpl which may vary on papers. Burgman Street comes with a front disc brake with combi brakes as standard feature and gets its instrument cluster from Suzuki Gixxer. Other standard feature are a multi-function key slot, under seat storage, a 12V charging socket and an LED tail-lamp.
Burgman Street can be booked at Suzuki dealerships with a token amount of Rs.5000. It will take on the TVS NTorq, Honda Grazia and Aprilia SR125. We may expect a price tag of Rs. 65000 having a maxi scooter styling.
