Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift bookings open

Some of the Nexa dealers have started accepting bookings for the upcoming facelift of Ciaz

The launch of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift has been scheduled for around the end of August. However, it is said that some NEXA dealerships have already starting taking bookings for the upcoming facelift. The booking amount ranges from Rs. 11,000/- to Rs. 21,000/- depending on the dealership.

The facelifted version of the sedan gets a rounder look up front, the grille goes just perfect with the updated headlights. The grille also gets chrome lining on the upper and lower edges. Adding to it, the bonnet gets a new design which makes it look flowing upwards from the grille. Also the headlights gets a full LED setup including a pair of daytime running lights (DRL) which add on to the looks of the sedan. Front bumper gets a new styling and a wider air dam. On the sides, the Maruti Ciaz got new chrome handles and diamond-cut alloy wheels. Only the tail lamps have been changed to a LED unit and everything else remains untouched at the rear end.

Inside, the car gets a new instrument cluster and multi-info display, an updated infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and new cushioning for door pads and the seats.

Suzuki’s new 1.5 litre petrol engine will power the new Ciaz rather than 1.4 litre motor. The all-new 1.5 litre petrol unit will stand out for its SHVS hybrid technology. The engine will produce 104 horses of power which is just average for sedan class standards. The SHVS system comes with start-stop technology and uses an integrated starter generator (ISG). The ISG functions as a battery charger during braking and acts as the starter motor when the start-stop technology is in use. The cars featuring SHVS also get an electric boost via the Engine Power Assist (EPA) system, where the ISG supplements the engine’s power during acceleration. Although there will not be any change for the diesel motor. The 1.3 litre diesel SHVS engine will remain unchanged for the refreshed Maruti Ciaz.

The newly developed petrol-hybrid system could also be seen in Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which is expected to be launched later this year. Company is also working on an all-new, 1.5-litre diesel engine that will be introduced on the models of Ertiga and Ciaz later.

Although there is nothing much revealed about the pricing of the upcoming Ciaz, we can tell you that the NEXA dealers are offering discounts. The discounts range from Rs 75,000 to Rs 1.3 lakh which depends upon the inventory and the location.
