Ducati has just launched the all-new 2018 Multistrada 1260 in India at the price of Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Multistrada 1260 S has been priced at Rs 18.06 lakh (ex-showroom). The official launch was announced on the social media platform on 19th of June. The mighty bikes were first displayed in 2017 at Ducati World Premiere, in Milan, Italy. The engine now has a larger displacement of 1262 cubic centimetre because of the slightly longer stroke of 71.5mm. Also it features Desmodromic Variable Timing (DVT). The DVT on the Ducati Multistrada 1260 combines variable timing with desmo valve actuation which delivers an ideal combination of horsepower, low-rpm torque as well as meets Euro-4 emission norms. The power plant now produces 160 PS of power at 9,500 rpm and 129.4 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm.
In the International market, the Ducati Multistrada is available in two more variants. The chassis has also been retuned to get the best out of the new engine. The steering angle has also been increased from 24 to 25 degrees and the length off swingers has also been increased by 48mm. Which increases the wheelbase from 1,530 mm to 1,585 mm. Also the stability and arg comfort goes up by this. The fully adjustable suspension setup comes from Sachs with 48mm inverted forks on the front end.
Other cosmetic changes includes a new TFT display screen, navigation, semi-active Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS), as well as barrage of rider assist options including a vehicle hold control, as well as four riding modes – sport, touring, urban, and enduro.
