But, we all love to get a feel of something larger than life and for that, we once in a while, binge on some amazing movies. So, here we have combine the best of both worlds with this very special list of movies a biker just cannot miss. Choose the one you want to watch right, grab a bucket full of popcorn and get ready for a virtual ride of sorts.
1. CLOSER TO THE EDGE
If you’re a speed freak who just loves watching motorcycle racing, then this one is for you. Closer to the Edge is a documentary movie on the Isle Of Man TT motorcycle races from the points of view of the riders, officials and fans of the tournament. You’ll find motorcycle racers reveal their motivation to participate each year in the Tourist Trophy, the most-dangerous, most-deadly race in the sport. The Isle of Man Tourist Trophy is the greatest motorcycle road race in the world, the ultimate challenge for both the rider as well as the machine.
Just watching the trailer of this film will leave you inspired. Imagine, what the entire film could do. Why we ride is an inspiring celebration of the motorcycling community, a documentary film that shares the passion of motorcycle riding and shows the camaraderie of the friends and families who ride together. As told by many racers, riders, pioneers, and parents in the sport, the story weaves its way through generations of motorcyclists who live each day to the fullest on their two-wheeled machines. The refreshing message about the joys of motorcycling, coupled with state-of-the-art photography, captures the imagination and sets the soul in motion.
How do you go faster than the rest, how do you win at this glamorous, dangerous game? The movie could be subtitled: How do you beat Valentino Rossi? Get to see the entry of the 24-year-old Italian, world champion in 2001 and 2002, and how he currently dominates MotoGP. He’s the charismatic center of the film. In addition, FASTER focuses on three other riders: Rossi’s bitter rival Max Biaggi; the brilliant but injury-prone Garry McCoy; and the rising teenage star John Hopkins. Tales told by a supporting cast include former world champions including Mick Doohan, Kevin Schwantz, Wayne Rainey, Kenny Roberts and Barry Sheene.
Even though compared to the others, this is a more recent film, it got noticed faster than expected and people have just loved it. As the intro goes, ‘Hitting the Apex’ is the story of six fighters – six of the fastest motorcycle racers the world has ever seen – and of the fates that awaited them at the peak of the sport.
This is an excellent and exceptional documentary that captures the excitement, thrill and the drive of an exceptional bunch of individuals/racers, their machines and crews.
Who doesn’t know about the Dakar Rally? Well, if you don’t, get “Taste of Dakar” is a part of “The Ride of My Life” series and was chosen as one of the “Best of the Web”. This 50-minute film explores the world of adventure motorcycle riding featuring off-road riding school of Jimmy Lewis and the Altrider “Taste of Dakar 2014”. This epic Death Valley adventure video showcases some of the biggest names in Adventure motorcycle riding, including Jimmy & Heather Lewis, Chris Story, Kurt Forget, Jeremy Lebreton, Fonzi, Kurt Caselli and Chris Blais.
6. Into the dust
Larry Janesky and his son Tanner team up to face the challenge of a lifetime: one thousand miles of unforgiving landscape in the Baja 1000 – the longest non-stop race in the world. Two men, one bike, 25+ hours of relentless battle against fatigue, sleep deprivation, and the elements. The conditions of this competition are so harsh that only half of the teams ever make it to the finish. This is their first time racing the Baja 1000. Could they finish, or even win?
7. WILD HOGS. 2007
Four middle-aged friends decide to rev-up their routine lives with a freewheeling road trip, but after a run in with a Mexican motorcycle mob, they are less than eager. It turns out to be a fun-filled movie to watch.
