Volvo has just launched its most affordable SUV the SC40 in India at an introductory offer of Rs.39.90 lakh ( Ex-Showroom, India). The SUV will be available only in single variant the R-Design. The scandinavian automaker already started taking order for a booking amount of Rs.5 Lakh.
The XC40 gets power from Volvo’s 2.0-litre , 4 cylinder diesel (D4) motor to facilitate 190hp and 400Nm of torque to all four wheels by the use of an eight speed automatic transmission. Basis on market feedback Volvo may look forward to introduce a Petrol variant in future.
The XC40 will take on the Mercedes-Benz GLA , Audi Q3, and BMWX1. In R-Design variant, the new SUV gets wireless mobile phone charging, a 750-watt 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, 19-inch wheels, powered tailgate and heated front and rear seats. The XC40 also gets dual tone interior and 9.0-inch touch screen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Being a Volvo , XC40 comes fitted with 7 airbags and a full bouquet of advance safety features that include lane keeping assist, blind spot warning, adaptive cruise control, ESP, traction control, hill descent control. The XC40 will be a key product for Volvo in cost conscious market of India.
